Greetings and Salutations Modern Knowledge Middle School Families!

I am Dr. Michael Cottledge and I am extremely excited to introduce myself as the new Modern
Knowledge Middle School Principal. The MKS Middle School team welcomes all 6th, 7th, and
8th grade young scholars back to school on Sunday, September 1, 2024.

To all of our new families, I welcome you to our school community. We are excited to share all
that MKS has to offer and within minutes of your arrival, you will experience a warmth and
genuine respect from your peers; feel the compassion and high expectations of our faculty; and
embrace the “success for all” mentality of our campus.

This year, our commitment to student Academic achievement, Behavioral accountability and
Cultural responsiveness will develop children who are: more resilient, more unified, and better
equipped to handle the ever-changing landscape of our global society.

Our dedicated faculty and staff have been working tirelessly to finalize class schedules, engage
in professional learning opportunities, and refine our safety management plan, all with the goal
of fostering academic success for all children. Our classroom teachers are eager to meet their
new students and begin this year’s “journey to success”. Our primary goal for the 2024-2025
school year is to ensure academic excellence in all core content areas. We will continue to refine
instructional practices, analyze data, conduct classroom observations, and review student work to
guide instruction and offer interventions as needed.

I look forward to impacting the lives of our future, as well as developing a productive working
relationship with our school community. Thank you for entrusting the MKS middle school
