Dear MKS Middle School Students and Families,
Welcome back, MKS Middle School Dragons! The countdown to the start of a new academic year is officially underway. On behalf of the entire MKS Middle School team, I want to express how eager we are to welcome our young scholars back to campus on August 30th to begin another outstanding year of learning, personal development, and shared achievement.
Reflecting on the past two years, I am deeply proud of the remarkable growth across our middle school community. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our students, teachers, and leadership, MKS Middle School recently earned an overall effectiveness rating of “GOOD” from the Education and Training Quality Authority (BQA). Together, we have strengthened relationships, celebrated milestone achievements, overcome challenges, and continuously raised the bar for what our students can accomplish. This year, we remain committed to maintaining that momentum.
To ensure our students continue to thrive, our primary instructional focus for the upcoming school year will be improving reading comprehension and enhancing writing across the curriculum. To support this goal, our faculty will be modifying course curricula to increase direct writing opportunities while deliberately decreasing in-class technology reliance. We believe this balanced approach will foster deeper critical thinking, active engagement, and stronger foundational literacy skills. Additional details regarding this initiative and how families can support it at home will be shared in the coming weeks.
I am truly honored to serve the MKS Middle School family, and I look forward to everything we will accomplish together in the year ahead. Please enjoy these final days of summer vacation—we cannot wait to see you all on August 30th!
