Dear MKS Community,

We are absolutely delighted to announce that our 2019 – 2020 carnival event will be on 2 November 2019 from Noon PM to 5 PM. This year’s carnival will be themed as a Festival of Colors! The carnival is an annual opportunity to welcome our students, parents, and families to enjoy an evening of fun activities, delicious food, and entertaining shows. We had over 2,500 guests at our last carnival, and it was certainly an event to remember! We expect an even better turnout this year.

We welcome commercial businesses and companies who wish to attend to set up a vendor booth. If you know parents who have businesses that would like to attend, please have them contact Ms. Kawthar, our commercial vendor liaison. We welcome food vendors as well as fashion, makeup, textiles, accessories, toys, books, and any other shops or vendor types.

This year’s Festival of Colors carnival will feature TWO PERFORMANCES of the Lip Sync Challenge! See below for more information. We can’t wait to join together and celebrate our community! Feel free to reach out to me any time for more information or general inquiries.

Lip Sync Challenge

The MKS Lip Sync Challenge is making a comeback after a 3 year hiatus! This show concept was introduced to MKS three years ago, and it was a massive hit- we can’t wait to see what our students and staff come up with this year.

Performers in the Lip Sync Challenge choose a popular song, commit the lyrics to memory, choreograph and memorize a dance or movement routine, and wow our audiences. Anyone in elementary, middle, or high school can join in, including both staff and students! The challenge is a competition, and prizes will be given out for the most entertaining numbers. Performers can join as solo acts or in an ensemble group. All are welcome!

Date: 2 November 2019

Show #1: 1 PM

Show #2: 3 PM
(don’t wait to buy tickets, as the second show usually sells out!)

Tickets: 3 BD

Directed by: Ms. Umetsu & Mr. Tyler- see them for more info!
