On behalf of our administration, staff and students, we welcome you to the Modern Knowledge Schools’ website. I hope that you will find this portal into our schools to be a pathway to learn about the many outstanding programs that we offer, and about the terrific staff and students who benefit from these programs. We look forward to providing your children with a challenging education that builds academic excellence, encourages creativity, promotes lifelong learning, and fosters respect for self, others and heritage.
We are proud of the many accomplishments of our students not only in academics but also in the wide variety of activities and athletics that we offer to children of all ages. Our graduates go on to attend a wide variety of post-secondary institutions and find success in employment opportunities, both locally and around the world.
I personally invite you to visit our schools so you can become acquainted with the principals and staff and see the outstanding opportunities available for our students. Please call the school in advance, so the principal can be available to visit with you and answer any questions you may have. MKS remains committed to continuous improvement for all staff and students, and strives to live up to our motto “Making Kids Successful!”
Modern Knowledge Schools offers an enriched American curriculum with an international perspective for students K-12. Facilitated by a caring, professional and specialized staff of teachers, MKS strives to empower our students to become critical, independent thinkers with the skills to participate dynamically and successfully in an ever changing global society. To connect our learners to the world, Modern Knowledge Schools, one of the few non bilingual schools in Bahrain, has adopted rigorous and demanding curriculum standards. The curriculum standards specify what students should know and be able to do.
MKS curriculum standards are based on the American Education Reaches Out (AERO) Standards developed by the U.S. State Department's Office of Overseas Schools, the International Society for Technology in Education, The National Science Foundation, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and the National Council of Teachers of English/the International Reading Association. and other nationally recognized bodies. MKS curriculum is vertically aligned from pre-kindergarten through grade 12. The AERO grade level expectations, standards and benchmarks are cross walked and closely aligned with new US Common Core State Standards (CCSS). MKS is implementing both the English Language Arts and Mathematics Common Core Standards. These standards also guide our school improvement plans, professional development and program evaluations. They provide the basis for gathering data on how we assess the progress of students in each of our schools.
